IMPORTANT UPDATE: Colgate Beta Weekend has been postponed tp September 24-26, 2010 -- one week later than the original date announced with the spring issue of the Adelphian newsletter, to coincide with the Colgate vs. Syracuse football game in Syracuse on September 25. Bus transportation to and from Syracuse will be provided along with a tailgate. More details will be forthcoming; there may be changes to the events listed below.

The sixth edition of a growing tradition. Get back to your Beta roots. See old friends and relive old memories. Make new friends and learn about what’s changed at Colgate from the students, themselves. Keep the Beta legacy strong. More than 60 alumni from a wide range of class years attended in 2009.

SCHEDULE:

Friday, September 24 

• Morning golf: For those able to arrive on Friday morning, tee times at Seven Oaks will be blocked for the group.
• 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.: Cocktails will be in good supply to welcome returning fossils.
• 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.: Hear from the Hill -- Q&A with new Colgate President Jeffrey Herbst, University Relations Vice President Bob Tyburski, and Director of Alumni Affairs Tim Mansfield
• 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.: Dinner -- A gala meal provided by House Chef and Beta Sweetheart Liz King. Sample the gourmet cuisine of yet another Zagat/Michelin-worthy Beta epicurean.
• 9:00 to 9:30 p.m.: Loving Cup -- Filled with good cheer.
• 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.: A Betas-only gathering for good cheer and drinks at The Old Stone Jug.

Saturday, September 25 

• 12:00 to 1:30 p.m.: Buses transport Betas to Syracuse.
• 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.: Tailgate Lunch -- A Beta-sponsored gathering outside the Carrier Dome, featuring cool refreshments, burgers and dogs, and conviviality with current brothers.
• 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.: Football Game -- Colgate’s "Hoodoo" stuns Syracuse into submission, leaving them "Domestruck"!
• 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.: Buses return Betas to the Lodge.
• 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.: Post-Game Cocktails -- Post-win refreshments will be in plentiful supply at the Lodge.

Sunday, September 26 

• Exploration & Goodbyes -- Take in one last breath of the Hamilton air as you grab a tour of the campus.

HOTEL ROOM BLOCK:

Colgate Inn (315-824-2300 or www.colgateinn.com) or the Wendt University Inn (315-824-4400 or www.wendtinn.com) — Request a room from the “Lomonosoff Room Block” and make sure you specify the number of nights you want to book! Rooms MUST be reserved prior to August 23; after that, all unreserved rooms return to the hotel’s open inventory to be made available to the general public. (For those not familiar with the Wendt, it is a relatively new facility, similar to a nice Holiday Inn, just a bit north of the town center on 12B.)

Hamilton Home Rentals: -- Got a larger group? Bringing the family? Several two- to seven-bedroom homes are available at reasonable rates in the village. We have no block on these houses, which tend to book up quickly for home football weekends, so act fast!
